Miniature Pinscher
Although the Miniature Pincher is considered a toy breed because of their size, it has the mindset of a terrier as it was originally bred to hunt rats and other varmints. Often referred to as Min Pins, they typically weigh between 8 and 11 pounds. Even though they look like small Dobermans, the two breeds are actually unrelated. In fact, the Miniature Pinscher was actually introduced before the Doberman Pinscher.
It is thought that the Miniature Pinscher is a cross between the Dachshund and the Italian Greyhound and that Germany is the Miniature Pincher’s home origin. The Miniature Pinscher breed’s life-span is usually long and can last anywhere from 14 to 17 years. |
